Mining Map: Mandatory not Voluntary (Halifax Initiative)

PDF map produced for the 2006 National Roundtables on Corporate Social Responsiblity, to illustrate the broad global scope of Canadian mining injustices. For each mine profiled, amounts of Canadian public investment (through the Canadian Pension Plan (CPP) and Export Development Canada (EDC) and other institutions) are provided.

The following (historic and current) Vancouver-based mining projects are included on the map:

Monywa Copper Mine | Burma | Turquoise Hill (Ivanhoe)
Marlin Gold and Silver mine | Guatemala | Glamis Gold (Goldcorp)
Cortez Gold Mine | USA | Placer Dome (Barrick)
