In this February 24, 2012, video report, Samantha Bayard interviews Jennifer Moore, Latin America Program Coordinator for Mining Watch Canada.
 

Jen overviews Canada’s history of inadequate regulation of its extractive industries, and proposed Canadian legislation Bill C-323 that would create a forum for foreign citizens to hold Canadian corporations accountable in Canadian courts. Finally, Jen points to situations where communities (including in Cabañas, El Salvador; in Costa Rica, and in Peru) that have achieved “little victories” against extractive projects. View the six minute video interview.
