Canadian Governor General called on by hundreds in Guatemala

Canadian Governor General David Johnston was greeted by hundreds of demonstrators outside the Canadian embassy in Guatemala City today. The residents of communities affected by Vancouver-based Tahoe Resources mine in Southwestern Guatemala had sought an opportunity to speak with the GG about the damage caused by Canadian mining in the country, but were denied an audience.
